Jaunty #3 of "Twilight Kiss" collection

Image
This painting is one of the most enjoyable paintings I made in my "Twilight Kiss" series. Notice her little smile of satisfaction and her jaunty little ponytail. This is in contrast to his quiet bulk and strength while he's holding her. I kept his face out of the painting to emphasize how warm and close they are together without making it a back-and-forth conversation.  I made their DEEP, quiet closeness even more apparent by painting deep shadows where their warm, loving bodies are touching. Her forehead is also wrinkled up a little in intensity of emotion. That makes her both contented and deeply happy with her man holding her in his reassuring strength and warmth. This painting shows so much intensity of emotion and contentment by the way her fingers are clutching at his shoulder. I really love how this painting in my "Twilight Kiss" series turned out. ~Rita Jan Gehman

My 2nd Twilight Kiss painting

Image
My second Twilight Kiss painting was the first one I painted using a pure ultramarine blue background.  This made is much easier for the glowing, golden bodies of my "Physical Touch love language" intertwined couples to show up against that deep blue background.  This is also the first painting in my "Twilight Kiss" that has the words fitted around the bodies. "Support" and "Kindness" are in the background while "Passion" is on her left knee. I love how her smile has crinkling around the eyes. Additionally, I put a stylized tree around them. However, I felt this made the painting more busy than it should have been.  Therefore, I only added more background elements (besides the loving words) to the MUCH LARGER paintings in the series. Now, this painting also has a deeply contrasted couple which I think highlights their joyous emotions. This painting mostly turned out how I desired. However, I determined to clean up the background to mak...

My #1 (out of 20) Twilight Kiss piece

Image
My "Twilight Kiss" series has really taken off. This blog post is about my very first painting in the series. At first, my goal was to create iridescent rainbow coloring throughout the series with golden bodies on top. However, as time went on, the idea of this kept appearing muddier and muddier in my mind. As time went on with #1, the first painting in the series, I saw how even using a purple background was going to make the foreground look more mottled, less clear. I also noticed that the words in the sky were stiffly drawn in a straight line, instead of flexibly shaped around the figures, as is done in all of my other paintings in my "Twilight Kiss" collection.  That was cute, but it made it appear more rigid, naive, and less professional.  It was the last time that was done in the "Twilight Kiss" series.  As I started painting the glowing bodies, I found that they weren't nearly as 3-dimensional as I'd wanted them to appear. But, at least I s...

My Favorite Artists

Oh, man.  This is a hard one. My favorite artists are the masters of the human body and colors of life. Michelangelo, Peter Paul Rubens, and Kazumov with his lovely ladies in idealized clothes and idyllic city and country settings. I love the human form.  I love how much the human body reminds me of perfect immortal bliss. I want to be just like those artists. But, more than that, I want to do better than they have done. I want to make paintings of rose and gold and light and red and filled with bodies of beautiful lovers who hold each other in deep, loving intimacy. I want to make life and give birth through art. I want to make the world MORE beautiful, rather than LESS beautiful like shitty grunge artists make it. Let's bring hope and love and romance and intimacy into our homes with the kind of art that I love to make.

The Kind of Art I Want to Make

Every day, I look at the best art in the world on Instagram.  I subscribe to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Quent Cordair Fine Art Gallery and Lex Bartoux Gallery.  I seek out the kind of art that I like to make. However, nobody is making it yet. That's why I work so hard to develop the artistic skills that it takes to get the job done easy, efficiently and exact the way I want to do it. Painting is creating a world that you want to live in.  I want to live in a world full of romance, sex, intimacy, close physical bonding, wrapping my body around my lovers and vice versa, and soft warm tones of deep, spiritual sex bliss. That's the kind of art I want to make.

Lying in My Bed

It's 6am, and I'm self employed.  I can get up when I please. So, I'm lying in bed and thinking about an art curator I know. In my mind, I'm moving close against him, my breathe against his neck. My hand is on the center of his chest. I can feel his muscles and his heart beating under my hand. This is what occupies most of my time. I masturbate several times a day.  I love softly kissing my lips along the neck and jawline of hot men. I love painting romance... the spiritual connection between two people. I love painting that spark! between two people in love. That heat, that warmth of bodies connecting with spiritual ties. Right now, my eyes are drifting into Dreamland. I'll continue writing when I wake up. `````````````` Okay, I'm awake now. Today, I'm thinking about this first blog. What do I write about? I want this to be a researched art blog. An art blog where I learn about paintings and history as I go through my own personal art journey. However, I c...
